Program Info

PREP scholars will start in the lab on June 1st and work for one year in the lab of one of the PREP faculty members.

Curriculum

PREP Scholars will have access to all PROPEL curricular offerings including the monthly literature review, annual programming and statistics course, and annual PROPEL Symposium. 

In addition, PREP Scholars will be required to take GRAD214 "Ethics and the Responsible Conduct of Research Course" in their first year.

Mentorship

In addition to their assigned laboratory mentor (PREP Faculty), all PREP Scholars will be assigned a secondary mentor, to answer career development and graduate application questions, and offer advice and support as the scholar progresses through the program.

PREP Directors will meet regularly with all PREP Scholars to offer additional mentorship and career guidance.

Grad Application Assistance and Professional Development

PREP scholars will also be included in all application assistance workshops (Graduate School Applications Panel, Mock Interview Workshop, Personal Statement Workshop) and Professional Development workshops and activities.
